Coach Lola began playing volleyball in her hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina. She joined her Junior Varsity team her first year playing and through her determination and constant practice, made her competitive varsity team and shared the court with some of the best players in the nation for 3 years.
Coach Lola went on to receive college volleyball scholarships from a few East Coast Universities and decided to play her collegiate career at George Mason University (Division I) as a Middle Blocker/Hitter. At Mason, Coach Lola redshirted her first year and played her rookie year in the CAA conference. She made her CAA All-Rookie team and went on the be a starter each year at Mason, with her university moving into the A-10 conference in 2013. During her college career she was once ranked as one of the top 10 blockers in the nation and alsoachieved academically, by making the A-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll twice.
Coach Lola has coached with Rio Volleyball for 2 years and has held roles as an assistant and head coach for 13- and 14-year-old teams. She also serves as the Director of Community and Engagement and Outreach and Kennesaw State University. Her sister, Adeola “Ade” also played volleyball at Duke University and will begin playing her collegiate volleyball career in Finlandin Fall 2022.
