Rio Volleyball Club Director Rafael Silva was introduced to the game of volleyball at the age of 13 in his hometown of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Over the last two decades, Coach Rafael played volleyball professionally in Europe and South America for over 7 years, and has coached at the club, high school and collegiate level.  

Coach Rafael recognizes that the game of volleyball changed his life and provided him with opportunities he only dreamed of, and he is excited to have the opportunity to share the game with others.  His focus in on building skills from the ground up, and introducing new skills to players in a systematic and age appropriate manner.  

Coach Rafael’s connections within the volleyball world have allowed him to assemble a world-class coaching staff for his club teams and camps, including coaches with collegiate and national team coaching experience, in addition to international playing experience.
